Mr Degefe Bula was elected as a speaker of the House of Federation of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and took office on 10, Oct.2005 for a five years mandate.

Mr Degefe was a vice president of Oromia Regional State and Justice and Security Burea Head from 21st September 2004 - 8 October 2005.

Inaddition, Head, Administrative, Justice and security Bureau of Oromia regional state from 18 October 2001 –21 September 2004.

Before joining the Oromia Regional State, Mr. Degefe worked in Ethiopian Television Agency as a Head of Television program of Affan Oromo from 1st February 1997 – 18th October 2001, Head program co-ordinator from 1st July 1993- 30th January 1997 and as a Department Head from 1st July 1990 – 30th June 1993.

Mr. Degefe was also served as member of the council of Constitutional Inquiry of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia for the past 3 years before coming to the present post.

He was born in 1968 in Oromia Regional State, Wollage and obtained LLB degree from Ethiopian Civil Service Collage and awarded different certificates on Television production techniques, on Television Journalism and on Top level management training from different trainers coming from abroad for short training programs. He is married and the Father of two children.
